Nasopharyngeal Airway
For whom?
Paramedics and emergency responders use these to keep airways open in patients who are unconscious or in seizure, or who have difficult-to-open mouths, preventing their tongues from obstructing airflow.
How?
Lube the tube, and slide it into the nostril, twisting gently if it hits resistance, until the flared end reaches the tip of the nose, then tape it in place.
And
Size matters. Pick the right length to reach the back of the throat.
