For whom?
Pessaries can provide structural support to the pelvic organs to protect against prolapse or stress urinary incontinence. Others act as vaginal suppositories, introducing medicine to the body as they dissolve.
How?
Therapeutic pessaries can be folded and inserted into the vagina by hand, and adjusted to provide the support needed. Pharmaceutical pessaries – like the ones used to treat thrush – usually come with a syringe-like plastic applicator.
